Advance Recon Specialist

Role Overview

Outpost Command Assessment: The Nomad class is the first major specialist break from foundation street enforcement and is assigned to riders trusted to operate beyond immediate pack support. Where the Thug holds pressure in visible lanes, the Nomad pushes ahead into uncertain ground, reading terrain, people, and threat flow before the main movement commits. This file marks the transition from local control to operational foresight.

Nomads exist because the Outer Rim punishes hesitation. Convoys fail when routes are guessed, when choke points are entered blind, and when hostile patrol patterns are discovered too late. A Nomad is deployed to prevent that failure chain. They map risk in real time, identify viable movement corridors, and return actionable intelligence that allows the pack to move with intent instead of reaction.

Narrative

Nomads function as advance-route specialists responsible for threat identification, path selection, and early warning across unstable sectors.

Core duties include route reconnaissance, convoy lead screening, perimeter scouting, sabotage targeting support, and real-time hazard reporting to command elements.

In joint operations, Nomads give the pack decision-time: they reduce uncertainty, expose ambush conditions early, and preserve momentum through high-risk transit corridors.

Psychological Profile

Temperament: Controlled, observant, and patient under pressure. Nomads favor measured responses over emotional escalation and maintain focus in high-noise environments.

Typical Behaviour: Persistent scanning, route-checking, and environmental reading. They monitor movement patterns constantly and adjust position early rather than late.

Decision Making: Risk-weighted and timing-driven. Nomads prioritize mission continuity, selecting options that preserve mobility, information flow, and safe withdrawal paths.

Threat Assessment: Moderate direct intimidation, high operational value. A Nomad presence indicates the pack is preparing with intent and is unlikely to enter blind.

Operational Environment

Nomads are commonly encountered in transition spaces where routes become vulnerable: canyon approaches, settlement outskirts, industrial fringes, remote trade roads, and dead-ground between active territories.

These environments punish static thinking. Visibility can collapse with dust, traffic, or mechanical heat haze, and local threat posture can flip in minutes. Nomads are deployed there to keep the pack one move ahead.

Equipment Highlights

Nomad equipment philosophy emphasizes mobility, endurance, and practical field utility. The visual profile is lean, weathered, and purpose-built for extended movement through unstable terrain.

The class presentation favors adaptable carrying capacity and reconnaissance readiness over overt bulk, signaling a rider built to observe, track, and return usable intelligence under pressure.

Construction Guidance

Every member starts as a Womprat, learns the Outpost culture, and builds toward an approved Thug costume. The Thug remains a complete and respected endpoint for any member who prefers to keep that core profile.

Members who want to develop further can use the optional Variant Role paths to expand the Thug foundation with specialised gear and story direction. Join the Discord outpost to view the CRL documents.

Command Notes

Outpost Command: Nomads win fights before contact by keeping the pack out of bad ground. When their reports are ignored, casualty risk rises immediately.
