THE CONSTITUTION
The Constitution of the Rancor Speeder Bikers
The Constitution establishes the governance, structure and administration of the Rancor Speeder Bikers. It defines membership, leadership, standards and the responsibilities entrusted to those who preserve the identity and future of the Club.
** # Constitution of the Rancor Speeder Bikers Costume Club Version 1.0 --- # Preamble We are the Rancor Speeder Bikers. Forged through a shared passion for Star Wars, motorcycles, craftsmanship, and community, we unite as an independent costuming organisation dedicated to creating memorable experiences, supporting charitable causes, and promoting fellowship among our members. While our inspiration comes from a galaxy far, far away, our conduct is firmly grounded in integrity, respect, professionalism and service. This Constitution establishes the principles by which our Club shall operate. --- # Article I – Name The organisation shall be known as: Rancor Speeder Bikers Costume Club Hereafter referred to as The Club. --- # Article II – Purpose The Club exists to: - Promote Star Wars-inspired motorcycle costuming. - Encourage craftsmanship and creativity. - Attend public appearances, conventions and charitable events. - Support worthy causes through volunteer work. - Foster friendship, respect and camaraderie. - Provide an inclusive environment for members who share our passions. - Maintain high standards of costume quality and public professionalism. - Preserve the reputation of the Club through honourable conduct. --- # Article III – Independence The Club is an independent organisation. While maintaining respectful relationships with other Star Wars costuming organisations, the Club governs itself independently and is not subordinate to any external organisation. Cooperation shall always be welcomed where it benefits charity, the public and the wider costuming community. --- # Article IV – Membership Membership is open to individuals who: - Are at least 18 years of age. - Share the values of the Club. - Meet the costume standards established by the Membership Office. - Abide by this Constitution and all Club policies. - Conduct themselves in a manner that reflects positively upon the Club. Membership categories may include: - Womprat - Rider - Slicer - Enforcer - Underlord Lieutenant - Underlord - Daimyo Additional membership classifications may be created by the Council as required. --- # Article V – Standards Members shall strive to: - Maintain costume quality. - Treat fellow members with dignity and respect. - Support charitable objectives. - Represent the Club professionally. - Avoid behaviour likely to damage the Club’s reputation. Discrimination, harassment, bullying or intimidation shall not be tolerated. --- # Article VI – Club Structure The Club shall be administered by a Council consisting of: - 3 Club Founders (Daimyo) who may consist of, But not limited to: - Club Chairman - Vice Chairman - Treasurer - Secretary Additional Council positions may be created when necessary by majority vote of the council members --- # Article VII – Founders (Daimyo) The Founders shall be recognised as the creators and custodians of the Club’s vision. The Founders retain responsibility for preserving the identity, mission and long-term direction of the organisation. No amendment to the Club’s name, identity, insignia or core purpose may occur without all three Founder’s approval. --- # Article VIII – Elections Elected Officers shall normally serve a term of two years. Elections shall be conducted fairly and transparently. Vacancies may be filled by interim appointment until the next election. Founders are permanent unless they voluntarily step down. --- # Article IX – Meetings The Club shall hold: - Annual General Meeting (AGM) - Regular Council Meetings - General Member Meetings as required Reasonable notice shall be given before meetings. --- # Article X – Costume Standards The Club maintains costume standards appropriate to its identity. Approval of costumes shall be conducted through the Club Enforcers. Members are encouraged to improve and develop costumes over time. Safety shall always take precedence over costume appearance. --- # Article XI – Events The Club may attend: - Charity events - Community appearances - Conventions - Motorcycle gatherings - Promotional activities - Any activity deemed appropriate by club officers Participation is voluntary unless otherwise agreed. Members shall follow event organisers’ rules and all applicable laws. --- # Article XII – Discipline Where a member breaches this Constitution or the Club’s Code of Conduct, disciplinary action may include: - Informal guidance. - Written warning. - Temporary suspension. - Removal from office. - Termination of membership. Members shall have the right to: - Know the allegations. - Respond to those allegations. - Present evidence. Natural justice shall be observed throughout any disciplinary process. The founders reserve the right to remove any members position without warning or explanation. --- # Article XIV – Finances The Club may collect: - Membership subscriptions. - Donations. - Merchandise revenue. - Fundraising income. Club funds shall be used solely for Club purposes or charity donations. Members may not profit from their membership of the Club. Financial records shall be maintained transparently. --- # Article XV – Intellectual Property The Club’s: - Name - Logo - Colours - Insignia - Artwork - Branding remain the property of the Club. Unauthorised use is prohibited. --- # Article XVI – Amendments This Constitution may be amended by a two-thirds majority of eligible voting members, subject to Founder approval where required under Article VII. --- # Article XVII – Dissolution Should the Club cease operations: - Outstanding debts shall be settled. - Remaining assets shall be donated to charity or transferred to another non-profit organisation with similar objectives. - No member shall personally profit from dissolution. --- # Article XVIII – The Rancor Creed We are the Rancor Speeder Bikers - a free riding collective forged by three outlaws bound by the high octand hum of a repulsor engine, the grit of the open flats, and the trails we blaze through the dust. We answer to no local syndicate, no backwater governor, no lingering imperial garrison and no New Republic beuraucrat. This sector of the outer rim is our territory and we carve out our own tracks. Yet, while we ride as outlaws, we hold ourselves to the highest standards of craftsmanship, professionalism and honour alongside the greater costuming community. --- # Motto Rancor forever, forever Rancor. **
